Unanticipated death at home or elsewhere In these situations, you should immediately contact 911; police and emergency medical personnel will then determine the appropriate steps to take. Generally, the authorities can release the remains directly to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, anywhere in the United States and in some parts of Canada and International. Call in a timely manner so that so that preparations may begin. In some situations, however, the remains may need to be taken to the Medical Examiner’s office; this occurs when the cause of death may not yet be known.
